Birthday party invites by Paint Savvy

Just how many kids do we invite to our event?

With consideration to our children's classmates, club and sports friends, not to mention family members, friends and  neighbors,  our party attendee list can grow to substantial numbers... and quickly!
A good rule of thumb, is to use your child's age and the location of your birthday party event as your guide.

Home birthday party

A home party means that you (as the parent or grandparent) are likely the host or hostess and will bare the brunt of the burden. The planning, activities, food, decoration, cost and so on.
We recommend that for a home party you invite as many children as your childs age plus 2.
For example, if your child is turning 6, then a max of 8 guests would make event manageable.

Away party
You may choose to have your event at a museum,  restaurant or other indoor facility where you are the guest and someone else is the host.  This makes for an easier event and hence allows for more invites. Through our research we have found that generally packages averaging 15 guests are available at most local business that specialize in hosting a birthday party.

With regard to choosing a guests list, consider your childs ages.
the younger your child is, the fewer guests he she needs to celebrate with. We recommend that you start with close family and friends. A child age 1 -4 will not grasp the concept of party guests and will not be equipped to entertain them. He or she will be pleased seeing familiar faces, blowing out candles and being the center of the event. Too many guests may cause some distress as children under 5 are still learning to share and socialize.

Extras:
How about siblings? should they be invited? the short answer is , its up to you. Thankfully, most parents will not assume that their household is invited to your child's event and will refrain from bringing their motley crew. Usually a strategically worded invite will help with clarity on this subject. Something as simple as "siblings welcome" will indicate that obviously its alright with you to have the additions. On the other hand, "we would like to invite name of child  for an exclusive party bash for birthday child " lends to the fact that your invitation list is limited.

Just consider where your event is, some locations do charge per child. If your heart strings are tugging toward all are welcome, be sure you are prepared for the added expense and ready with additional supplies.
