Paint Your Windows with Ice Crystals! Winter Window Ice Crystal Craft Project

Paint your windows with ice crystals and bring some winter wonder into your home with this easy ice crystal tutorial.

All that's required are 5 things:

1. Epsom Salt (1/3 cup)
2. Water (1/2 cup)
3. Dish detergent (1-2 drops)
4. Paper towel
5. A mixing bowl & measuring cups

Oh, and windows, of course.  Although mirrors, metal trays or clear plates can be painted with ice crystals as well.

Step 1:
Place 1/3 Cup Epsom Salt and 1/2 Cup warm water in bowl.  Microwave for 30 seconds and stir until salt is completely dissolved.  This could take up to a minute or so of stirring.  Now put a few drops of Dish Detergent into the Crystal Water.

Step 2: Soak paper towel in solution and paint your windows!

Step 3: Wait for crystals to appear!  You should see some crystal action within the first few minutes, but it can take 5-10 minutes for the crystals to fully develop.

You can draw on the window both while the crystal mixture is wet and/or dry for additional affect.

When finished, simply wipe the crystals off your windows with water.
