Wolfe FX Consumer Product Review

Wolfe FX, in our professional opinion is one of the Industry leaders when it comes to face and body paint.

Wolfe FX is high pigmented, vibrant, and durable paint.

We have had the exclusive opportunity to work with Wolfe FX reps and get first hand education, instruction, and demonstration of the product. Not to mention that we require as a business the use of this product in our face and body supply list with artists that represent us.

Here is why:
Wolfe FX is the only product that we can layer without significant blending of the base color.
For example, If I paint a black spider-man mask, and I want white lines, there is no product that can deliver like this one. This alone is extremely valuable to me as an artist. Wolfe FX makes great dots and spots, its inky nature allows you to have superior control over dot delivery! I find again that the dots are opaque and clean over another color of paint. Therefore, Wolfe FX is great for layering and detail work.

Durability: We noticed very early on that Wolfe FX doesn't run and outperforms other products in heat.
All water based face paint will run with sweat, or basically if it gets wet. Paint Transfer is inevitable if water is involved, however, Wolfe FX paint tends not to run in the same manner as other products. It has a longer life in general.

The critique.
When using Wolfe FX to blend, it does not perform as well as other brands. Unless you use layering and stippling, or you do not mind lines of demarcation, blending seamlessly into the background of the skin or blending colors into one another are more difficult to achieve. I believe this is due to the inky traits v/s the powdery, creamy traits of other products. It seems to dry faster, so you need to work at lightning speed to blend effectively.

Almost every Wolfe product we have tried and tested - which is virtually every single one has performed very similarly.

A breakdown of each product we have tried:
Essential colors. Overall an excellent product. Some colors such as blue and green are a little more stubborn to remove, I recommend cold cream, or make up remover if soap and water do not do the trick. With children I personally refrain from using wolf near the eyes. I have three children and despite repeated soapy washcloth face baths, its difficult to remove the paint very close to the eye area.
Metallic are slightly more transparent than opaque colors which is to be expected. Blue, green and yellow are the most impressive to me personally. Gold performs ok, however definitely do not expect an opaque finish here. It seems to be more translucent than other colors. I cannot review with confidence other metallic colors. The first time I tried them I was not impressed, however I have an old supply of the silver, red and its very possible that the formula has improved since the first batch.
Neon performs similar, however, yellow, green, pink and orange outperform purple.
Clear neon is extremely useful and extremely effective in turning a non neon color into a neon color. We were very impressed with this product and used it under black light for a School Theater Production.

We are not official endorsers of this product, we do not distribute or sell this product nor do we benefit financially from posting this review. ..But we hope it was helpful. Feel free to leave a comment of your own.
