DIY pom pom craft for kids

Pom poms out of cut grocery or shopping bags, newspaper and magazines?
Yes of course and what a great way to recycle that mounting mass of plastic and paper in the corner of your pantry Mom! This is a kid friendly, very kid doable activity. All they need is a little direction.

See below for pom pom DIY tutorial and larger final image

Supplies needed:
Grocery or shopping bags, newspaper, or an old magazine (half will suffice)

pencils, wooden dowels or bamboo sticks

tape and scissors

cut strips from open end leaving an inch at folded end

tape pencil in place, roll paper onto pencil, tape again to secure

fluff and shake

repeat to make one made out of plastic bags
*note, cut handles off and layer 4 or 5 plastic bags

or repeat with a magazine, just remove the staples first

Final Product!

magazine pom pom is far left, newspaper pom pom is center and plastic bag pom pom is right
