HOW TO MAKE YOUR FAIRY HALO
Ideas for the basic halo: An extra large zip tie with trimmed ends
or if you visit your local hardware store like we did, you can find hard plastic ribbon that is used to hold together bundles of merchandise like wood. You can find this material on just about every aisle of the store, and its free and a great way to reuse/repurpose plastic that would other wise be thrown out.
What you need:
plastic ribbon/zip ties (pre measured to fit your fairy, with a 1/2"-1" allowance for fabric)
ribbon and/or strips of fabric or tule
glue gun
comb
jewels, stickers, wire and paper cut outs, or anything you like to decorate your halo
Step 1:
measure your plastic for the halo and using your glue gun, seal the seam
Step 2:
cut your ribbon and fabric into strips - recommended 6-8" for cotton fabric, 8-10" for tool and ribbon
Step 3:
tie your ribbon/ fabric strips in a pattern around your halo, leaving enough space at the back for your comb.
Step 4: glue the comb in place, curved side pointed inward
Step 5:
Embelish with jewels, long 12-24" ribbon/fabric that drapes down the back
Great for Parties, Party Gifts, Craft Markets, and the best part is kids of all ages can easily make these!
