So the best gifts are those that involve all the kidos, no matter their age.
This gift/project began as an art project that I thought would occupy some of our childrens time. Afterall, summer has arrived and they are out of school. I welcome all creative ideas to keep us busy and out of trouble.
We were in a local thrift store and I came across a really neat contemporary piece of art.
I wasn't really sure what I was looking at, however it resembled tin foil perhaps with leaf impressions and then painted and framed.
Cool right? So I thought we could try our own variation.
We used a piece of tinfoil, gave it some texture, painted it and used an extra large sheet of construction paper to make a boarder.
This made for a quick and easy project!
But a friend dropped in and then we started a dialogue of other this we could do with our foil. And it occured to me that we could perhaps mold it to make sculptures.
KIDS!!! COME ON DOWN!
Using a sheet of tinfoil, I carefully molded it onto my sons face, starting from the center (inbetween eyes) and working down and out.
Pretty cool Mom!
Then I trimmed the edges and kept a little for an artsy effect, and placed in a picture box.
All three children framed and ready to share with Dad tomorrow!
