YOU WILL NEED
11.5 X 8 Cardstock Paper, scissors, elmers (or similar) glue, a few sponge paint brush applicators, a paint brush, one sheet of newspaper in strips, glue gun with 2-3 glue sticks, matte primer in any color, if white, then use another acrylic based paint for your base color, black or dark color for wash, metallic gold, silver or bronze, and a sealant
Approximate time: 45 minutes to an hour including drying time.
Wipe glue evenly across entirety of the paper
Roll into a cone shape and rubber band
Trim the ends so that they are straight
Stuff with newspaper and use a wooden dowel, or chopstick to help pack the paper.
Use a hot glue gun to seal both the end and tip of your wand (use enough glue to make the end smooth) approximately one stick
Make a pattern using another stick or two
We elected to run the pattern 2/3rds of the way up
Use a primer or primer and paint in one- any will do, however, matte will dry the quickest
Once dry, make a wash with a dark color (we use black) and paint the wand,
then gently wipe off excess paint
Use Metallic Gold, Silver or Bronze to highlight your glue
Seal with a waterbased permanent sealant, gloss finish spray is recommended for shine
